GATE-Driven Progression

No phase advancement without clearing each GATE checkpoint — quality is enforced by process, not just grading.

PPR Framework First

Every project starts by defining its Product, Process, and Resources — before any CATIA sketch is drawn.

Digital Before Physical

Validate fully in SIMULIA — structural, aerodynamic, thermal — before any physical prototype is commissioned.

Demonstrate Then Design

Every lab begins with a live instructor walkthrough on the DS platform. Students replicate before they create.

Min & Stretch Goals

Every milestone specifies a minimum deliverable and a stretch target — no one stalls, no one is left unchallenged.

Team-Based Projects

2–4 person teams throughout. Shared accountability, defined roles, and real collaboration — not solo assignments.

IPR from Day 1

Every project is scoped to identify patentable innovations. Prior art search and patent claim drafting are built into CUGM2143.

Go Green by Default

EVs, agri-drones, and solar-integrated products are prioritised. Sustainability is a design constraint, not a bonus.

Industry-Scale Problems

No toy projects. Every capstone is a real-world product brief — designed, simulated, and digitally launched for market.

Product Development — GoToMarket in 100 Days

Teams of 2–4 take a product from brief to digital launch in 25 days of intensive project work. Plan, design, simulate, validate, and present a working digital product to a faculty panel and Dassault Systèmes industry reviewers. All tracks require a complete 3DX model, SIMULIA validation report, BOM, and a live product pitch.

A Electric Vehicle

E-bike or e-scooter: powertrain in DYMOLA, full body in CATIA, validated in SIMULIA

B E-Rickshaw

800kg 4+1 passenger carrier: chassis, suspension, brakes, CATIA assembly + FEA

C Agri Drone (UAV)

Quadrotor for pesticide spraying or surveillance: CFD aerodynamics + structural load analysis

D Humanoid Robot

Robotic arm or torso: kinematics, actuation, motion simulation in CATIA Kinematics

E AgriBot
